Mango
India ranks first among world's mango producing countries accounting for about 50% of the world's mango production. There are many hundreds of named mango cultivars. In mango orchards, several cultivars are often grown to improve pollination. Many desired cultivars are monoembryonic and must be propagated by grafting, or they do not breed true. A common monoembryonic cultivar is 'Alphonso', an important export product, considered “the king of mangoes”.
Thus, BAIF looks forward in helping farmers through production of Mangoes.
Cashew Nuts
In 2021, global production of cashew nuts was 3.7 million tons, led by Ivory Coast and India with a combined 43% of the world. One of the goals of the Indian Cashew Alliance is to promote India’s cashew processing capabilities to improve the profitability of India’s cashew industry.
Daftari Rice
Rice is a major food staple in Asia. It feeds over half the world's population. However, a substantial part of the crop can be lost post-harvest through inefficient transportation, storage, and milling. Storage losses include damage by mold fungi if the rice is not dried sufficiently. BAIF project helps farmer to grow and store rice quality rice that can be delivered to the consumers with efficiency.
