The economy of India is an agricultural-centric economy. Around 60% of the population depends on agricultural activities for their livelihood. But, the primary producers and farmers have had a long struggle in India.
In order to address these problems, the Government of India set up an expert committee, led by Y.K. Alagh (an economist) to look into the matter. In the year 2002, they introduced the Producer Company’s concept to the Indian economy. Since then, they have helped primary producers gain access to input, credit, production technology, market etc.
With the same motive BAIF found a farmer producer company. The company was established in 2016 with a focus on consolidating the production and marketing of Cashews, Mangoes and Rice.
Vision
Our organization will support the members in getting more income by undertaking any/many/all of the activities. By aggregating the demand for inputs, the organization can buy in bulk, thus procuring at cheaper price compared to individual purchase. Besides, by transporting in bulk, cost of transportation is reduced. Thus reducing the overall cost of production. All these interventions will result in more income to the primary producers. The aim is to enhance farmers’ competitiveness and increase their advantage in emerging market opportunities.
Our project’s major operations will include the supply of seed, fertilizer and machinery, market linkages, training and networking and financial and technical advice.
Mission
Our aim is to ensure better income for the producers through our organization of their own. Small producers do not have the volume individually (both inputs and produce) to get the benefit of economies of scale. Besides, in agricultural marketing, there is a long chain of intermediaries who very often work non-transparently leading to the situation where the producer receives only a small part of the value that the ultimate consumer pays. Through aggregation, the primary producers can avail the benefit of economies of scale. They will also have better bargaining power vis-à-vis the bulk buyers of produce and bulk suppliers of inputs. Our main objective is to involve farmers in the production process and marketing activities.
Our core business is farming, specifically the cultivation of cashew, mango and rice crops. We aim to ensure sustainable and high quality production while also promoting the economic well-being of the farmers involved. The program focusses on supporting and empowering the beneficiary farmers throughout the cultivation process to ensure their success and improve their livelihood.
NABARD Produce Funds have helped us establish this company.
The company has received significant support since its inception.
BAIF's K.F.W program has provided financial assistance to over 2000 farmers for cultivating Cashews and Mangoes. These farmers have been organized into three sections, namely:-
1) Krishi Bardhu Division - Dalpatpur
2) Krishi Kranti Division Ozarkhed
3) Krishi Ratna Division – Gauta
Benefites
• We purchase these goods directly from farmers.
• We offer a better price compared to the market.
• We maintain transparency in the distribution process of these goods.
• Farmers receive payment for their goods directly into their accounts. With this system, farmers are relieved from the burden of selling their agricultural produce and engaging in trade.

We drive the interests further of small and marginal farmers of India, various Farmer Producer Organizations in all forms, their associative tiers like state bodies and associated organizations.
